The TSA Law Enforcement Officers (LEOs} Flying Armed Course is required under Title 49 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) part 1544.219 (1} (iv) for all LEOs, who have a demonstrated operational need to fly armed on board US commercial aircraft. This course provides the students with the rules, regulations, and requirements placed on armed LEOs by the CFR.
1-16 to 1-18
The Field Training Officer Course is designed for Peace Officers, Telecommunications Personnel,
Administrative Staff, or anybody that will be providing training to Law Enforcement, Officers,
Corrections Officers, or Telecommunications Officers. This course teaches Training Officers how
to provide supervised field training for new recruits in any law enforcement discipline. The goal is
to transition the recruit from a classroom setting to an actual hands-on assignment. This course
also introduces and teaches the student the History and Purpose of Field Training, Training
Methodologies and Techniques, Counseling, the Evaluation Process, and the importance of
Documentation. Each student must demonstrate the basic knowledge required to apply
all applications of the training effectively. This is an interactive class, and discussions will be mandatory as part of the learning process.
Requirements:
Laptop is recommended.

The primary purpose of the Texas Standardized Field Sobriety Testing (SFST) Training Program is to improve the administration and consistency of DWI investigation and enforcement by providing FREE training to licensed Texas Peace Officers. The overall mission of the program is to decrease alcohol-related crashes, injuries, and deaths by promoting DWI deterrence and enforcement proficiency. This program utilizes full-time program staff, in addition to contracted adjunct instructors to administer courses throughout the state. Funding for this program is provided by the Texas Department of Transportation. See below for course descriptions.
This course uses the nationally standardized SFST curriculum and is designed to improve the administration and overall consistency of the Standardized Field Sobriety Test (SFST) battery by keeping officers up to date and proficient.
